At first I thought the term "anger management" is an oxymoron. I mean, anger is about outbursts. To be graphic about it, do you "manage" a volcanic eruption?

After finding out the truth about anger, I don't ask those questions any longer. Anger management is not about suppressing the human emotion of anger. Rather, it is about expressing the emotion in a manner that builds relationships, be it personal or professional.

To use the imagery above in describing Anger Coach, yes you don't suppress lava from flowing out of a volcano's mouth. But you can make decisions on where to build your house. DESCRIPTION:

During a business meeting, a "keyword" made my partner go berserk. He wasn't angry at me. He was angry at someone else who wasn't even in the room, nor in the building, nor in the city!

Around a year earlier, I was in the business of stopping people on their tracks and that attitude didn't build healthy professional relationships. People didn't normally want to get corrected and look stupid in front of others, even in heated discussions (which is normal in business). Close encounters with destructive anger made me realize that I needed to be more than just a cool person in the room. I needed to handle anger more deliberately -- not just my own anger but that of others.

PROS:

• The books and programs are good, not just for people who struggle with their temper, but also for those who struggle being around people with bad temper.
• You can choose to learn anger management through different formats: Book, eBook, CD and offline workshops.
• The program expertly touches on the inner workings of the human psyche and addresses anger behavior on its roots
• Legally recognized in the USA as a certificate required by law.

CONS:

• The program is not a quick fix for people with anger issues. It requires a process.
• The program is not a one-time affair. To stick, it requires commitment.
• This is not a feel good program. Key exercises require you to make key decisions that require courage.
• Price packages are on the high end. A $29.95 book, for instance, isn't cheap. You better see the value it has for you before pulling out your credit card.
