That happened to me folks. I was sort of wanting to get the best of both worlds: the convenience of a template and the freedom of starting from an outline. This was when a professional contact tweeted Business Plan Pro to me and the rest was history.
It felt like someone beside me was guiding me by the hand. Business Plan Pro showed me samples of how to write each part of the plan. Come on, with 500+ real life samples, you'd be happily overwhelmed.
But here was the thing. Since mine was a start-up company, I saw that investors would be very keen on how actual figures would compare with forecasts, on a frequent basis. While I thought I could use my spreadsheets for that, I felt I would need additional man-hours to retype the numbers in the plan and monitor the variances in real time.
This was when I found the merits of Business Plan Pro Premiere. The Premiere edition effectively made my plan a business management tool by allowing me to compare actual figures with forecasts on a frequent basis. I could do it simply by encoding whole or rounded numbers.

CONS:
- Business Plan Pro saves you time, but not the hard work. If you detest hard work, look for a business plan template that exactly fits your business and good luck!
- You better be online when you're working with Business Plan Pro, as some features can only be accessed by connecting to the internet
- Business Plan Pro harps about its "Free professional feedback." That sounds really cool. But I'm not sure if you would really want to send your whole business plan to someone you don't personally know nor trust. But maybe it's just me who's not comfortable with the idea.
- Additional features of the premiere edition is something you can do through your favorite spreadsheet, so keep in mind that what you're paying for there is the convenience and quickness of comparing your performance with the plan. (I buy them, of course, but people and situations vary).
RECOMMENDATION:
